Aadhar Date of Birth Correction

No one can deny the importance of aadhar. It is a complete document and is a KYC (Know Your Customer) document accepted in banks and financial institutions. This is a 12 digit unique number issued to every resident person in India. When you apply for aadhar, the system stores your complete details into UIDAI (unique identification authority of India). Once you enroll successfully in the UIDAI system, you can easily verify yourself in any part of India.
The government of India offers many subsidies to aadhar holders.In order to avail of these subsidies, your records must be correct in the database. If it is not correct, you will face difficulties in various steps of your life. One of the most common errors during the enrollment process is an error in entering correct date of birth (DOB).

In this article, we will learn two methods of Aadhar Date of Birth Correction.

Method 1: Offline Method - Visit nearby aadhar center. Do not forget to carry the original aadhar card & original birth certificate. The aadhar center staff will give you Update Aadhar card form. Once filled, staff will do biometric verification and issue you an acknowledgment slip that contains URN. You can use URN to track the status of your request. You have to pay Rs. 25 as a processing fee.

Method 2: Online Method - Visit the UIDAI portal eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in download and click Aadhar Card Details in the Aadhar Online Services. This will direct you to the Aadhar Self Service Update Portal. Enter your 12-digit unique aadhar number & enter Captcha code and click Send OTP button. You will get OTP on your registered mobile number. Once you receive the OTP, enter on the screen to log in.

Upon successful login, select DOB for Aadhar card DOB correction online. Now fill the correct date and click the submit button. You will also have to upload the verification document. After this, select the BPO service provider to conclude the request for correction. BPO's role is to verify the details of the uploaded document. Now carefully note down the URN (Update request number) that you will receive on your mobile number. Use URN to track the status of your update request.
